DISTANT SWIMMER by Jacob Cheyenne

Distant Swimmer by Jacob Cheyenne 4 stars

What a sweet and lovely book. Full of all the feels!

Ryan is on the college swim team which he loves, particularly at shower time. However, being the only gay guy on the squad is a lonely place to be. Ryan wants a boyfriend and although he is on various dating and hook-up sites, one nighters aren’t really his thing. The new boy Blake offers some hope but when Blake meets Ryan’s best friend Marissa, Ryan realises Blake is more interested in her than him. It’s confusing to Ryan because he was sure that Blake was pursuing him – well someone was and now Ryan has to figure out who that is. When Ryan finds his one true love, it’s a great voyage of discovery and revelation and Jacob Cheyenne handles it all very stylishly making for a very satisfying read. It’s hard to write more about the book without giving away too many spoilers but I enjoyed all the Speedo references and the vivid descriptions of the swimmers especially see through Ryan’s eyes.

All in all, I think Jacob is going to get better and better with each new book. He is easy to read and his stories are cute and engaging with a little bit of angst and a whole lot of sexy times, all in context with the story. I look forward to reading more of this authors work asap!
