Firstly I would like to say that I didn't see the cover before I read this but it's perfect.
This story had me longing for more innocent days of my past but there's nothing innocent about Josh's feelings towards his ex teacher.
For years he had yearned for Sam to notice him, when he lost his father his teacher was a shoulder to cry on. Not a substitue for his father you understand but a big, strong, muscly tattooed shoulder.
When he moved away after graduating he left Sam with a note explaining his feelings. What he never knew was that the feelings had been the same for his teacher.
When they see each other after three years, it's due to Josh having to return back to the home he never wanted to see again and the sparks soon begin to fly and smouldering embers are reignited.
We get to see the problems they face from unrelenting family members and they deal with their own struggles, trying to overcome feelings of unworthiness.
This was a lovely book and I didn't put it down until I had read the last word, the only thing I felt was that the last couple of chapters wrapped up too quickly and could have been expanded on.
