Safe Place (Rainbow Place #2) by Jay Northcote

You don't have to have read the first book in the series for this to make sense but it is nice to get a feeling for the setting and characters, plus I love to read a series in order whether it can be a standalone or not!!
For me this was a really lovely story. I liked the way the two men came together, it was very sweet and Cam seemed to be a very caring young man.
Poor Alex doesn't have the best of lives, when you read who his father is in the context of the story you will see why...
Having a character who is scared of revealing his truth and one who feels the need to protect makes for a beautiful story of friendship firstly, then a slow build up to the revelation of feelings. And you do get them with this book!
By the time you get halfway through, you know the ending you want for these two and just hope that this is where the author is taking you
I have read almost everything from this author and he is someone that I would always pick up knowing I was going to get a good, well written read.
I'm looking forward to the rest of the series as the first two are a definite hit.
5 out of 5 stars.
