What a lovely story! I have to admit to not having read the other books in the With a Kick series, but I may well do now, just for the feel good factor.

Karel Novak is the main character in this book. He is a hard working, stoic Czech man who has made his home in London. He has a sister in London too, but the rest of his family are back in the Czech Republic. He lives alone but has good friends and a busy life, so doesn't really consider himself lonely. Yes, he'd like to meet someone, but now in his mid-thirties, he thinks that may not happen. Occasionally, Karel likes to visit the bars in Soho, and it is one such bar that he becomes a little mesmerised by the dancer on stage. The man isn't naked, but he is so sexy that Karel is captivated by him instantly. Another man strikes up conversation with him and it turns out it is the dancer's boyfriend. However, the couple take a fancy to Karel and ask him out. He agrees and the story really spring boards from that moment.

Tops and Tails is a very easy read, but that's not to say it isn't well written. Clare London has a style that flows effortlessly and the tone of the story left me feeling very up beat. Leroy, the dancer and Griff, the chef, are very believable characters. They both have qualities and flaws that make them unique individuals. Karel slots in neatly to be their anchor, but more than that, they seem to bring out the best in each other. They are all artists - Karel is a sculptor, and their temperaments sometimes get the better of them, but they work through it to hopefully come out stronger. As a threesome, they have to learn what makes one another tick and it doesn't always work. What does work, most of the time is the sex between them and Clare does not hold back, rewarding us, the reader with hot and steamy scenes.

The story also focuses on emotion and how that plays a big part in what drives each of these men in their careers, their crafts and their love life. It's wonderful to see how the author mixes all these things together like the ingredients in Griff's recipes, or the delicious ice creams they indulge in at the With a Kick cafe. She brings them to life with vivid descriptions and realistic language.

Overall, I very much enjoyed this sweet and sexy read.
